Color Photographs: Now that you are acquainted with how B & W photos are prepared for the press, you are ready for a giant leap to 4-color process. Basically the process is the same with a couple of important additions. Colors used are Cyan—Magenta—Yellow and K for black; CMYK. Each color must be shot through a filter. Additionally, each color must be shot at a different angle but on the same axis. These are called color separations. If you did not do this, all the dots of every color would overprint one another. By using different angles, you create a pattern and the brain creates the finished photo.
